There are six house officers in each Oxford House, elected by the members to support the operations of the house. Oxford House members share the house responsibilities and pitch in to do the Alcoholics Anonymous chores. The Graduate Accommodation Office lets and manages rooms, flats and houses on University-owned sites in and around Oxford City Centre, which are available for full-time graduate students. OX Place provides shared ownership homes, as do some housing associations. This is the rent paid by nearly oxford housing all our tenants and some housing association tenants. Oxford House, Inc. is a separate nonprofit organization that provides technical assistance and training to the network of houses to help expand the Oxford House Model. The Oxford House Model provides a unique and successful system of operations that differs from traditional sober living homes and halfway houses. We have a small number of council homes let at intermediate rent. In a city where private renting is so expensive, 80% is still too much for a lot of people – and it’s not what we mean by affordable. We use specific funding like retained Right to Buy receipts to buy good value properties on the open market. We then let these as council homes to people on our housing register.

Generally an individual comes into an Oxford House following a 28-day rehabilitation program or at least a 5 to 10 day detoxification program.
